Its two main political parties are the National Party and the Labor Party. New Zealand was the first country in the world to give women the voting rights in 1893.

New Zealand’s free trade economy is dependent on International trade, with agriculture, horticulture, fishing, forestry and mining as its main exports to Australia, USA, United Kingdom, Japan, China and Asian markets.

THE CLIMATE

New Zealand has a range of climate zones between the North and South Islands. The general climate is mild and temperate however areas in the far north experience warm subtropical temperatures while the far south is much cooler with Alpine conditions in mountainous areas.
